AC Shadows Introduces Bizarre Attack on Titan Event for Thanksgiving
In a bizarre partnership that breaks usual forecasts, Ubisoft has announced an in-game crossover between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the renowned anime series Attack on Titan. The unexpected Thanksgiving event continues from November 25 through December 22, offering free extra story content for Shadows players.
Peculiar Adventure Revealed
According to the formal statement, "An unusual encounter leads heroes Naoe and Yasuke into a fresh adventure, where hints of forbidden practices and monstrous metamorphoses echo through the shadows." The storyline introduces a "unusually attired woman named Ada" who tasks the duo with venturing into the Crystalline Cavern—a important location from Attack on Titan—to rescue her companion from a clandestine sect.
The mission focuses on "strange trials and a monstrous adversary" and is available to all players who have gained access to the Yasuke character.
Recognizable Places and Transformations
The teaser features the Hidden Temple from Attack on Titan redesigned as the Crystal Cave. This significant location was formerly where the Reiss royal family transmitted the Founding Titan ability through ages. The teaser finishes with a dramatic sequence showing a character, likely the captive, changing into a Titan that rises over Naoe and Yasuke.
Unique Rewards and Additional Content
Players who finish the mission will receive an exclusive katana together with numerous items secreted throughout the area in concealed chests. The update also features purchasable Attack on Titan item packs, offering:
- Titan-based attire for Yasuke
- Mikasa outfit for Naoe
- Unique weapons
- Survey Corps vehicle
Third Free Story Addition
This patch also brings the game's newest free story content, titled "The Enigma." This humorous quest teams Naoe and Yasuke as they trade characteristic abilities: Naoe reveals a theatrical variation of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke masters non-fatal stealth takedowns. True to its name, "The Enigma" also features a fresh environmental puzzle that may eventually clarify some lingering questions from the main storyline.

This marks hardly the primary time the Assassin's Creed franchise has crossed over with well-known anime franchises.
